First, the part we're required to tell you
You do not need us. Every state lets you search for and claim your own unclaimed property for free, directly from its unclaimed property office. myLostLoot is a paid service for people who'd rather have someone handle the forms, the ID verification, and the months of follow-up. If you'd rather do it yourself, you can — and we'll tell you which state to go to.
What we do
Three steps. You do the first two, we do the rest.
-
Step 1
We search
Your name is checked against state unclaimed-property records. Some states publish their full database; others we search one at a time.
-
Step 2
You confirm
We show you every match. Names get shared, so you tell us which ones are really you — an old address or a former employer usually settles it.
-
Step 3
We file and follow up
States require proof of identity and ownership, on their own forms, by their own rules. We prepare the claim, submit it, and chase it until the state pays out.
What it costs
Nothing up front. Our fee is a percentage of what's recovered, and only when the state actually pays. Finder fees are capped by state law — some states allow as little as 5% — and we never charge more than your state allows. You'll see the exact percentage for your claim before you agree to anything.
Why trust us with your ID
States require identification to release funds, so we have to ask for it. myLostLoot is run by Richard Frankowski, a securities attorney who has spent twenty years recovering money for investors. Your documents are stored privately, used only for your claim, and never sold or shared.
